  1. Patrick F says:

That Michael/Roger Moore confusion joke series was genius. You could not have scripted it better.

Entertaining doc I reccomend would be Project Grizzly (Canadian Content!) about Troy Hurtubise – a “close quarter bear researcher” obsessed with building a suit able to withstand a bear attack. Quentin Tarantino named it his favorite film of 1996, Harvard awarded Troy Hurtubise their Ig Nobel Prize in 1999.

Also “American Movie” and “Man on Wire”

  2. I lost a good 20 minutes of work because of this! Dave YOU should go try out to be the infectious laugher! I don’t think I’ve ever heard you laugh like that which made it all the funnier.
Thanks for this, I know I’ll be coming back to it on those days when everyone is pissing me off and I need something hilarious. :D

  3. Peter Guilherme says:

I’d like to put in a good word for Tabloid, the Errol Morris doc that came out last year. It’s really colourful and lurid and the subject is a crazy-pants loony who at different points in her life kidnapped a Mormon ex of hers who she was convinced was being held against his will and had her dog cloned my Korean scientists. It’s great.

  4. That laughter made my day! Thank you!

  5. Me_Or_Something_Like_Me says:

    Other favorite Roger Moore documentaries:
    1. For Your Eyes Only – that other Robert McNamara documentary (other than Fog of War)
    2. From Russia With Love – a scathing documentary of mail order brides from a small Uzbek town to the bright lights and dark alleys of New York City
    3. Never Say Never Again – Cameras follow the journey to bring REO Speedwagon back together again for one last concert tour.

  6. My favorite is “Spellbound” the documentary about the 1999 national spelling bee championship, which surprisingly also stars Gregory Peck and Ingrid Bergman.

  7. I thought Eggybread Wonderlatch was my favorite mini-episode, and then came this one. As CJ said above, this is definitely re-listen worthy.

P.S. I also hate Tyce, and took great pleasure in seeing him crushed in Every Little Step.
P.P.S. For any other SYTYCDers and Smash watchers (tiny spoiler a-ho): Alex Wong and Spencer Liff are both dancers in the pilot (hotness ahoy).

  8. I so desperately want to see “Roger and Me: The Story Behind Moonraker”

The King of Kong is the greatest. Every time I tell someone what it’s about, they give me that “really?” look, but everyone I’ve ever showed it to loves it.

  9. Kristen B says:

Damn. Dave’s laughter reminded me of that now infamous New Year’s Eve video: “I know I’m drunk, but I can’t stop being drunk!” only this time it was the giggling he couldn’t stop. :)

  10. That was very entertaining!

Two documentaries I enjoy a lot are Cocaine Cowboys (about Miami drug gangsters) and Horatio’s Drive (a Ken Burns TV documentary about the first person to drive across the United States, back before there were highways).

  11. Re-watching Every Little Step tonight. “They’re invited to MY party.” Cram it, Tyce.

  12. Thanks for the recommendation on “Every Little Step”. Watched it last night and it’s really fantastic. But OH MY GOD, SHUT UP TYCE.
