Leonardo DiCaprio- The Departed
I almost always dislike Melissa George whenever she shows up on TV (in In Treatment, Alias, Grey’s Anatomy, etc), but I really liked Triangle, the Bermuda Triangle/time loop movie she starred in a few years ago.
She was also okay in The Slap, the Australian mini-series from a few months ago, though her character was purposefully annoying.
I always had an irrational hatred for Rosanna Arquette. While there isn’t a particular acting role that changed things, I did like her a lot more after I saw her documentary Searching for Debra Winger. Now I guess I don’t mind her. Not that I’ve seen her in anything at all lately.
Oh, also: I totally agree about Bug.
Renee Zellweger in “Chicago.”
Daryl Hannah in Kill Bill
Sean Young in Blade Runner
Tyler Perry in Star Trek
(He was a billion times better than he normally is, which is to say that I was merely indifferent to him, as opposed to driving me to self harm.)
Daryl Hannah in “Kill Bill” is a good one!
I’d go to bat for Daryl Hannah in “Blade Runner” as well.
Another Melissa George one. Hated her on everything I’ve seen her in except In Treatment, where she stunned me in the pilot and kept me watching through all 40-or-so episodes of that first season.
I disagree with the statement that Kate Beckinsale was only good in “Last Days of Disco’ – she was also very good in “Cold Comfort Farm.’ KB charms the pants of everyone in this one.
