#3: Don’t Stop. I Like It.
More TV than usual as we each share our favourite new shows of the season; discuss the interaction of TV creators with their internet fans (and non-fans); glory in a Tiny Triumph; find out what’s on Quinn’s mind in No Middle Ground; consider a new TV episode for inclusion in The Canon; name the week’s winner and loser; and see if Joe can break his losing streak with a new game!

- Extra Hot Great #3 Has Dropped - [...] — and why would you, when you could subscribe to it in iTunes as well as RSS? — but ...

I totally flubbed the twitter account. It’s the worst Twitter account name ever. I need to see if @extrahotgreat will donate his account. He/she doesn’t seem to be using it.
I remembered all the relevant links! Another Tiny Triumph.
Thanks to “The Canon”, I’ve added Frisky Dingo to my queue–just the audio was great, so I’m curious if the visual add much to the humor.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
Watched Season 1 in one shot last night, because I got sucked in by the storyline. I’m glad to know where “whore of a headache” originated, but my repeatable line is “are you feeling sick? Do you want me to hold your wimple?” Season 2 is now at the top of my queue, so Mission Accomplished x2.
The game this week was hard. It didn’t help that I misunderstood the rules. I thought I was having some kind of petit mal seizures and blanking out when the correct movie name was read by Dave. It took me about three movie guesses to understand what was going on. I’m slow.
I need to check out Frisky Dingo, too. I learned about Archer from a tweet from Tara a long time ago, and I love it.
So thrilled with the Frisky Dingo bit! Love the show, however, feel that Archer is nowhere near as funny, unfortunately. If you’re not familiar with it yet, go get the DVDs immediately!
I’ll back you up on Frisky Dingo > Archer (FD weirdness appeals to me alot) but I do think Archer is strong and Frisky Dingo season 2 was a mixed bag. It’ll be interesting to compare them when Archer finishes season 2.
Good points about the producers, you guys. Sorkin anyone?
Whoops, Joe just said it. HA!
Another great podcast. I liked the segment on the perils of producers trying to respond to their internet critics through the show – it just becomes way too meta.
Although Sorkin is obviously the most egregious example (he did it on Studio 60 too), let’s not forget that the writers of the Simpsons pioneered the in-show response to internet critics. At one point the Comic Book Guy was little more than a cipher for the posters on alt.tv.simpsons (cleverly lampooned as “alt.nerd.obsessive”). Say it with me: “Worst. Episode. Ever.”
Just watched Season 1 of Archer streaming on Netflix thanks to your suggestion. Love it.
Excellent! Season 2 starts late January.
Hi! First…I love your show! So clever! I heard about ya’ll through another favourite podcast NPR’s PCHH. :) One qualm: I am having trouble listening to your podcast on my Droid? I listen to PCHH on Google Listen, but can’t seem to find you on there.
SO…without using itunes(there isn’t an app for the Droid that i know of) or going through the website
(because then it restarts the podcast everytime someone calls/texts me resulting in
1) me memorizing the first 5 minutes of every podcast and
2) copious amounts of cursing)
how can i listen to your podcast??
All the best,
ELAINE! (a fan!)
I don’t use Android so i can’t test this but since Google has no submission process for podcast publishers it just magically appears when Google decides that the site they indexed for search contains a podcast which is totally out of my hands and is stupid.
I found this guide to adding a show manually:
